PeaceHealth is in search of a Healthcare Access Coordinator for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The compensation range for this role is $32.50. The starting salary is influenced by various factors, including education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Role Overview: The Healthcare Access Coordinator plays a crucial role in facilitating the connection between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification processes. This position serves as a vital link with physician practices, engaging in pre-visit services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately pre-registers and registers patients, ensuring complete demographic and financial information. Registration methods may vary based on location.
  • Collects patient payments, including balances, co-payments, and co-insurance.
  • Confirms insurance coverage and ensures compliance with all requirements, obtaining necessary prior authorizations and referrals before patient visits.
  • Addresses customer inquiries with professionalism.
  • Provides assistance with departmental tasks as needed.
  • Manages daily appointment schedules, which may involve reminder calls and contacting referrals.
  • May assist in transporting patients using appropriate equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical office or related customer service role is required.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience in a medical office or related customer service environment is preferred.
  • A strong background in customer service may substitute for medical office experience.
  • Ability to manage conflicts effectively and professionally is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills, particularly in meeting time-sensitive deadlines, are required.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
