Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage reinsurance accounting operations, including accounting, reconciliation, adjustments, settlements, and maintenance of the reinsurance system.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Oversee technical accounting operations related to gross underwriting activities.
  • Perform IFRS 17 related data quality checks to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Complete periodic group reporting and related disclosures.
  • Develop and implement controls over related processes, focusing on efficiency, accuracy, thorough documentation and process improvement initiatives.
  • Support external financial audit, actuarial audit, and other regulatory requests.
  • Assist with system updates testing related to technical accounting.
  • Take on other assigned projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA is a plus.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or a combination of both; experience in the insurance industry a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and research capabilities in IFRS/GAAP and Statutory principles a plus.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, knowledge of SQL, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites and corporate ERP systems.
  • Ability to identify patterns and variances in complex data sets and processes, rapidly distilling key issues and providing insight in various scenarios.
  • Detail-oriented and results-driven with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Team player and self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • No sponsorship. Must be a US citizen or permanent resident (green card holder).
