Job Summary:

Highland Rivers Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Crisis Stabilization Unit team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality individual care through the nursing process, including risk assessment, admissions, discharges, administering medication, unit management, and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Admissions and Discharges: Complete all necessary paperwork, including nursing assessments, and develop individualized care plans.
  • Individual Care: Monitor and report any concerns to the APRN and CSU Nurse Manager, including diet and physical activity.
  • Symptom Monitoring: Record and report symptoms and changes in individuals' conditions, using proper nursing care to the APRN and CSU Program Manager.
  • Documentation: Complete required daily shift notes, chart checks, CIWA, COWS, vitals, and update logs.
  • Education and Training: Provide education to individuals and families, in line with Release of Information, and facilitate groups and activities on the unit.
  • Crisis Management: Intervene, stabilize, and manage acute crisis situations as needed.
  • Collaboration: Consult with other outpatient site staff regarding individual's treatment and aftercare.
  • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality for all indirect/direct service in accordance with agency policies and HIPAA policies.
  • Competency: Demonstrate competency in Blood Glucose Monitoring, Alcohol Breathalyzer, Urine Drug Screen, Pregnancy Test, and PPD skin tests.
  • Lab Monitoring: Monitor and document all ordered labs, screenings, and results, including PPD, Blood Glucose, UA, RPR, Blood Chem, and CBC.
  • Phlebotomy: Perform safe phlebotomy practices when drawing blood labs.
  • Seclusions and Restraints: Assist with seclusions and restraints when necessary and complete all required paperwork.
  • Meetings and Record-Keeping: Attend case staffing/treatment team meetings and maintain clinical records in accordance with agency policies.
Requirements:
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment.
  • Experience in crisis stabilization and mental health nursing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
