Job Overview

Russell Tobin & Associates, a renowned company in the finance industry, is seeking a skilled Mortgage Loan Closer to join our team. As a key player in the loan closing process, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless transactions and delivering exceptional results.

Salary: $20-22/hour, depending on experience

Location: Southington, CT

Responsibilities
  • Review and complete loan data in PowerLender (LOS) with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare, review, and deliver comprehensive loan closing packages to closing agents, meeting strict deadlines.
  • Maintain and resolve issues with loan documentation, ensuring compliance with corporate, state, federal, and agency guidelines.
  • Serve as an intermediary between all parties involved in the loan transaction, fostering strong relationships and communication.
  • Verify that closing complies with all regulatory requirements and investor standards.
  • Coordinate loan closing proceeds, ensuring timely disbursement according to requirements.
  • Generate compliance tests and prepare draft settlement statements, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Review file documentation for consistency with guidelines and investor requirements.
  • Coordinate and prepare necessary documents to take mortgage loans from approval to closing (CD, Mortgage, Note, Final TIL, title work, homeowners insurance, flood insurance, payoff letters).
  • Collaborate closely with the processing department and title companies to ensure efficient loan closure.
  • Assist with clearing conditions on suspended files and maintain a production queue of mortgage loans.
  • Coordinate loans with MBOs, LOs, and 3rd-party vendors to close within credit document expiration and rate lock expiration dates.
  • Review pre-closing documentation, including title commitment, homeowners, and flood insurance policies.
  • Demonstrate ability to understand property appraisals and obtain verification of employments.
  • Image all documents to our system of record.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2+ years of experience in a relevant field
