A Day in the Life of an EMT

As an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you are the lifeblood of our company. You have the opportunity to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours per day. You drive a variety of emergency vehicles in all road conditions, including inclement weather, dense traffic, and rural off-road settings. You help provide direct patient care according to your competencies and per the Medical Director's authorization and protocols.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours per day
  • Drive emergency vehicles in various road conditions
  • Provide direct patient care according to competencies and Medical Director's protocols
  • Maintain vehicles and equipment in a constant state of readiness
  • Complete daily vehicle and supply checklists
  • Assist with vehicle re-supply, decontamination, and general readiness-related tasks
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 125 lbs. independently
  • Customer service skills
  • Previous experience will be taken into consideration
Work Schedule

Classes will be held during the week (M thru F). Clinicals will be scheduled after course work is complete. The ambulance position can work a variety of schedules, including 8-hour shifts, 12-hours shifts, 24-hour shifts, and 48-hour shifts. We can usually accommodate a set school schedule.
