Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team at Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC. As a critical member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to our patients and support our veterinarians in delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, including preparing patients for procedures and monitoring vital signs.
  • Conduct outpatient exams, take histories, vital signs, and weights, and provide client education.
  • Obtain blood, stool, and other samples, perform in-hospital laboratory testing, and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
  • Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and lab spaces, and restock supplies.
Requirements
  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in the state of desired employment.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds, and ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper PPE.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS office applications.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.
