Position Overview

The Nurse Extern I (NE I) plays a vital role within the patient care services team, primarily focusing on a range of technical, multi-skilled direct and indirect patient care responsibilities.

Under the guidance of a registered nurse, the NE I will be tasked with various duties based on patient requirements and their own competencies.

It is essential for the NE I to communicate any deviations from expected patient conditions to the supervising registered nurse.

Responsibilities may differ significantly depending on the unit or service line, reflecting the diverse needs of the patient population.

Individuals appointed as Nurse Extern I will undertake responsibilities akin to those of a patient care technician or similar role.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Completion of the Fundamentals of Nursing course from an accredited nursing school is mandatory. Candidates must successfully pass all courses to maintain eligibility in the program.
