The Healthcare Provider for Military Readiness will deliver medical services in an outpatient setting, ensuring qualifications that align with or surpass current national standards as set by the relevant accrediting bodies. Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate medical records for patients receiving treatment in accordance with established regulations.
  • Engage in the clinic's Quality Assurance Program to fulfill the standards required by accrediting organizations.
  • Adhere to the operational protocols of the medical treatment facility (MTF) where services are rendered, and participate in quality control initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments within the medical facility to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Provide medical guidance to patients via telephone as appropriate, following MTF protocols.
  • Offer clinical oversight to government personnel during clinical procedures.
  • Ensure the quality and promptness of treatment documentation and reports.
  • Participate in clinical education and quality improvement activities as directed by department leadership.
  • Comply with the MTF's quality control program and standard operating procedures.
  • Engage in clinical and quality review processes as per hospital policy.
  • Utilize the Military Planner Data Viewer (MPDV) system for readiness database tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current Board Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active, unrestricted state license to practice medicine in any U.S. state or territory.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant within the last three years.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with the hospital formulary and ability to prescribe medications accordingly.
  • Commitment to meeting Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with diverse patient populations.
  • Proficient in typing and experienced with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to access and manage medical information within various government databases.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating a range of acute conditions across multiple body systems.
  • Willingness to complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training as required.
  • Ability to fulfill any mandatory annual medical or government training.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain privileges at the designated medical center through the Credentials Committee.
