Job Overview

Turner's Outdoorsman is seeking a CASHIER to efficiently manage all customer transactions using a cash register. This role requires a retail professional who excels in communication, customer service, and numerical accuracy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome customers upon their arrival and departure from the store.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with a friendly and polite demeanor.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve store sales objectives.
  • Promote products and introduce new offerings to customers.
  • Engage actively in store promotions, sales events, and special activities.
  • Provide product insights and assist customers in locating or acquiring merchandise based on their preferences.
  • Process customer orders efficiently.
  • Maintain a strong awareness of firearm safety protocols.
  • Complete all necessary firearms documentation in compliance with legal standards.
  • Assist in merchandising efforts throughout the store.
  • Help with loading and unloading deliveries.
  • Receive and organize incoming stock.
  • Occasionally assist customers with fishing reel setups using specialized equipment and techniques.
  • Participate in inventory management tasks as needed.
  • Attend training sessions, which may include off-site opportunities.
  • Accurately handle cash transactions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Legally authorized to work in an environment involving firearms.
  • Previous experience as a Retail Cashier is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with cash registers or point-of-sale systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of hunting, fishing, or shooting sports is a plus.
  • Prior retail or sales experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in English.
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance and handling loading/unloading tasks.
  • Able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout the duration of a scheduled shift.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Varied hours, with potential for overtime as required.
  • Time-off requests may be subject to restrictions during peak periods.
