Job Title: Physician Assistant - Neurosurgery
Job Summary:
University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team. As a collaborative healthcare provider, you will work closely with neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide independent and interdependent patient care services, including scheduling, supervising, and conducting complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Perform surgical procedures within your scope of practice and in accordance with your practice agreement with your supervising neurosurgeon.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
Requirements:
- Work Experience:
- One year of experience in a neurosurgery outpatient clinic is preferred.
- Three years of experience in a hospital environment as a physician assistant is preferred.
- License/Registration/Certification:
- National Commissioned Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required.
- Licensed and approved as a physician assistant by the State of Texas.
- Must have DEA Number, DPS Number, and eligible to obtain an NPI Number.
- Current CPR certification required.
- ACLS or ATLS are required within six months of employment.
- Education and Training:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Training Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Ability to perform complex patient diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to interpret images.
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to remain flexible and positive in stressful situations.
- Effective assessment, evaluation, and resolution skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions.
