The Role:

As a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in transmission system modeling and analysis to guide the technical aspects of integrating utility-scale renewable energy projects.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting modeling and analysis to facilitate interconnection processes for various utility-scale initiatives.
  • Evaluating strategies for connecting projects to the electric grid.
  • Providing insights in reliability planning to identify potential transmission projects.
  • Assessing grid capacity through comprehensive technical studies.
  • Enhancing modeling data necessary for generation interconnection technical studies.
  • Participating in committees that prioritize technical expertise in transmission planning policy.
  • Executing Transmission Planning engineering studies within the North American Business Development group.
  • Performing power flow and stability studies to support Business Development opportunities.

Candidate Profile:

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in transmission planning.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree focused on power systems is advantageous.
  • Engineer in Training certification or Professional Engineer license is preferred.
  • Experience in power flow modeling and analysis is essential.
  • Participation in RTO/ISO regions' working groups is required.
