We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team at Discovery Behavioral Health. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide treatment services according to the Discovery Clinical Model, ensuring patient safety and delivering high-quality care.
Responsibilities- Ensure timely completion of clinical documentation throughout the treatment process.
- Establish therapeutic rapport with patients and their families, assessing patients for suicidality and potential danger to themselves or others.
- Facilitate admission assessments and the admission process for new patients with professionalism and courtesy.
- Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and communicate treatment goals with all team members.
- Maintain a caseload of 5-6 patients in Residential Treatment Center (RTC) and 10-15 in Outpatient (OP) level of care.
- Complete the assigned number of therapy sessions weekly for patients, including family/support system sessions aligned with the patients' level of care.
- Facilitate process-oriented and psychoeducation groups daily in RTC and 2-4 times daily in OP.
- Provide utilization reviews to insurance companies, obtaining initial authorization and continuing stay authorization as necessary.
- Ensure accessibility to family members or loved ones, responding to calls and emails within 2 hours during business hours and 24 hours outside of business hours.
- Communicate with the Utilization Review Department and Business Department regarding authorization and payment.
- Ensure discharge appointments are confirmed with patients and loved ones prior to discharge.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
- Completion of state requirements to conduct therapeutic interventions.
- Operates under supervision and is not licensed.
- Obtain CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
- Obtain CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.
- Must possess a current driver's license and be in good standing.
