About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at St. David's Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room suite, including cleaning and sterilization of equipment.
  • Participate in the care and cleaning of operating room equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Provide instrumentation and support to the surgeon during procedures, maintaining a sterile field and adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Prepare patients, equipment, and operating rooms for each procedure, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.
  • Collaborate with the circulating nurse to maintain accurate instrument counts and ensure a safe and efficient operating environment.
  • Manage supplies and equipment, determining needs and ensuring availability, and maintaining equipment through proper sterilization.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist with demonstrated competency in multiple inpatient surgical specialties.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or hospital-conducted on-the-job training with proof of program content and completion.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
  • Surgical Technologist certification from a recognized organization, such as the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or the National Center for Competency Testing.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
