Position Overview:

Role Responsibilities:
The Practical Nurse Advocate will actively support each patient from the moment they enroll in the program through their treatment journey, ensuring a smooth and successful experience.

A typical day may involve:

  • Acting as a reliable resource throughout the entire range of program services, including recognizing barriers to therapy and assisting patients in understanding and overcoming these challenges.
  • Providing education based on your clinical knowledge and experience regarding treatment options, emotional responses, and financial considerations associated with new diagnoses or chronic conditions.

Key Objectives:
Empower patients by offering them essential information and education about:

  • Their prescribed therapy and treatment plan, including a balanced view of benefits and potential side effects.
  • Correct administration and dosing of their prescribed therapy.
  • Working with insurance providers to clarify coverage benefits, expected out-of-pocket expenses, and available financial assistance resources.
  • Support mechanisms to help manage the stress related to their diagnosis.

Encourage patient involvement in their care by directing them to additional support for non-program needs, such as social services or other intervention programs.

Reporting Responsibilities:
Document any adverse events or product complaints in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates will possess the following attributes:

  • Clinical experience as an LPN with a proven ability to educate and manage patients facing new diagnoses or chronic conditions.
  • Understanding of clinical aspects related to relevant disease states, including treatment protocols and common prescribing practices.

Education and Experience:
Must hold a valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the applicable state. A minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience, particularly in relevant disease states, is preferred. Experience in nurse line triage, call center utilization management, or case management is advantageous. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

Work Environment:
This position is based in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment such as computers and telephones. The role requires effective communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to manage inbound and outbound calls.
