The G81 ENT/Plastics & Internal Medicine Unit at Cleveland Clinic features an 8-bed specialty stepdown unit for ENT/Plastics and a 24-bed internal medicine unit. Patients in this unit present a diverse range of acute and chronic medical conditions, including head and neck cancer, surgical flaps and grafts, renal failure, diabetes, hypertension, pneumonia, sepsis, and complex multi-system failure. Caregivers rotate between both sides of the unit, allowing for a unique blend of experience in both medical and critical care.

A caregiver in this role will be expected to work varying shifts as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to patients.
  • Implement and oversee patient care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and communicate patients' conditions effectively.
  • Execute physician and nursing orders accurately.
  • Assess and coordinate discharge needs for patients.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • External applicants should possess two years of recent nursing experience; military RN experience will be considered.
  • Successful completion of all prescreen competency assessments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

  • Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Requires the ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids is expected.

This position involves Medium Work, which includes exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
