Job Title: Security Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Systems Engineer to join our team at Paladin Technologies. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and optimizing complex building technology solutions, including IP security, alarms & monitoring, audio visual, low-voltage infrastructure, and networking.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop high-level system designs and technical narratives for pre-sales cycles, including site surveys, device mark-ups, network architecture design, and server loading.
  • Collaborate with owners and their representatives to produce detailed design drawings and technical descriptions of physical security, building technologies, and supporting networking, server, and storage architectures.
  • Develop design documents that guide the technical installation and configuration of systems, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Estimate financial and logistical requirements for projects, working closely with sales, marketing, and project management professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Identify and document processes to support design efficiency and scalability, driving continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, fostering trust and confidence in Paladin Technologies' capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements, pursuing education and professional development opportunities to enhance technical expertise and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of design experience in the information technology, instrumentation and controls, and/or security industries.
  • Field experience in a construction environment is an asset.
  • A strong understanding of physical security and/or IT industries, including awareness of complementary products, technologies, trends, and general application of physical security technology.
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu, IP networks, low-voltage electronics, power and communications, Windows desktop operating system, and Microsoft Office.
  • An understanding of fundamental concepts pertaining to IP networks, low-voltage electronics, power, and communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of the English language.
  • The ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, with a high level of responsiveness to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Post-secondary education from an accredited college, university, or technical institution in Business, Construction Management, Electronics, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • P.Eng, EIT, CET, or equivalent professional technical designation is preferred.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with a motivated and ambitious approach to researching new technologies and engineering and business methodologies.

Compensation: $33/hour - $38/hour DOE
