GENERAL FUNCTION

The Associate Optometrist plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of our patients by delivering and overseeing the execution of NECE.

This position collaborates with the Store Manager and Field Leadership Team to foster a safe and motivating work environment that promotes commitment, innovation, success, and growth within the organization.


MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrates unwavering commitment to providing outstanding Patient/Customer Service through the execution of NECE.
  • Assists in welcoming patients and managing phone inquiries as necessary.
  • Conducts all services in line with Clinical Protocols and accepted standards of care.
  • Ensures patients receive precise diagnoses and suitable recommendations.
  • Establishes a positive relationship with patients.
  • Mentors Associate Doctors on clinical protocols, auditing charts as needed.
  • Communicates effectively with all store associates to ensure a seamless eyecare experience and positive patient outcomes.
  • Identifies patients' diverse needs and prescribes appropriate products and services.
  • Facilitates the transition of patients to sales associates with relevant dialogue regarding their needs and prescribed services.
  • Focuses on developing qualified Associate Doctors and store associates through comprehensive training in various areas, including:
    • Orientation
    • Front desk procedures
    • Pre-testing
    • Telephone skills
    • Contact Lens Training
    • Clinical Protocols
    • Pearle Certified Eyecare
    • Company safety, Diversity, HIPAA, and Loss Prevention
    • Leadership and Management
  • Encourages decision-making at the level closest to the patient.
  • Provides timely, clear, and constructive feedback to Associate Doctors and associates.
  • Addresses performance issues directly in collaboration with the Store Manager, initiating appropriate disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Partners with the Store Manager to conduct annual performance reviews for Associate Doctors and provides feedback for store associates' evaluations.
  • Collaborates with the Store Manager to achieve overall store success.
  • Aims to exceed expectations in various performance metrics, including:
    • Secret shops
    • Sales plan percentage to goal
    • Exam growth
    • Store profitability
    • Adherence to Clinical Protocols
    • Key Performance Indicators
  • Recruits and selects high-quality staff in conjunction with the Store Manager.
  • Collaborates with the Store Manager to accurately forecast staffing needs based on business trends.
  • Adheres to approved staffing and scheduling guidelines.
  • Supervises and validates the receipt of CL diagnostics and physical inventory.
  • Ensures timely and accurate processing of Managed Vision Care claims.
  • Takes responsibility for ordering doctor's office supplies and company-approved forms promptly.
  • Maintains the office and store appearance, ensuring visual displays align with company guidelines.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctor of Optometry
  • Knowledge of current Optometric technology and practices
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities

Employee compensation is determined by various factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements.
