Job Summary:

As a Store Manager with the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our store, ensuring excellent customer service, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor customer service levels and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all ABC policies and procedures, including ID verification and cash handling.
  • Apply merchandising techniques to drive sales and maximize store visibility.
  • Account for all store funds and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Manage staff training and development, including product knowledge, customer service skills, and sales techniques.
  • Establish and maintain procedures that comply with store policies and relevant laws.
  • Supervise staff, provide coaching and feedback, and promote employee development.
  • Be available to work varied shifts, including weekends, holidays, and inclement weather.
  • Work outside of normal business hours, including early mornings and late evenings, as required.

Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of retail operations and customer service principles.
  • Experience leading and managing teams, including coaching, training, and developing staff.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Experience working with electronic point-of-sale systems and general software applications.
  • Ability to lift up to 65 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Preferred qualifications include 5 years of retail store management experience.
