We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Custodian Position - Maintenance and Operations Team Member to join our team at Rockingham County Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing general custodial and light groundskeeping work in the care and maintenance of assigned school buildings and facilities.

The ideal candidate will have some experience in custodial work, as well as the ability to follow instructions and exercise independent judgment and initiative in completing work assignments. They will also possess strong communication skills and be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.

This is a full-time position, approximately 8 hours per day, 10 months per year. The estimated salary for this role is $$30,000 - $40,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sweeping, mopping, and using vacuum cleaners to clean floors
  • Washing walls, woodwork, and fixtures
  • Policing buildings to empty trash receptacles and pick up debris
  • Requiring necessary cleaning supplies

Requirements:

  • Some experience in custodial work or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • A valid driver's license issued by the State of North Carolina
  • Ability to perform medium physical work
