Job Summary and Qualifications

As an Ambulatory Care RN, your responsibilities will include preparing patients for surgical, endoscopic, and interventional procedures. This role also encompasses Phase II and III recovery, as well as facilitating outpatient discharges.

You will be tasked with assessing, planning, implementing, and coordinating treatment plans to meet the objectives of the Ambulatory Care department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prompt assessments of patients returning from operating rooms or diagnostic procedures, documenting findings accurately.
  • Deliver safe nursing care and maintain a secure environment for patients and their families.
  • Transcribe and implement physician orders, ensuring all patient-related information is documented thoroughly.
  • Administer medications and IV fluids in accordance with nursing guidelines, ensuring accuracy and safety.
  • Continuously update and revise care plans based on ongoing patient assessments, including preparing patients for discharge.
  • Respond effectively to emergencies, utilizing critical thinking skills to identify and mitigate potential issues.
Qualifications - External

To qualify for this position, candidates must:

  • Hold a degree from an accredited nursing program, with an Associate degree in Nursing or higher required.
  • Possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the practicing state or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • Have current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • ACLS certification is required.
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience in Critical Care or PACU Nursing, strongly preferred.
  • Obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 90 days of employment start date.
