About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Architect to join our team at Augusta University. As a key member of our Systems team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our enterprise technical platform infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement database environments, including Oracle and SQL Server
  • Develop and maintain database administration scripts, monitoring and tuning performance
  • Work closely with the Manager of Research Technology to create strategic planning for the group
  • Act as a mentor to all DBAs, providing guidance and support
  • Monitor vendor sites for upgrades and patches, installing, configuring, and testing new software releases
  • Diagnose and correct system problems resulting from upgrades, enhancements, modifications, and application bugs
  • Ensure institutional policies and procedures concerning system and user operations are followed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 9 years of experience with Oracle RDBMS, including SQL and/or PL/SQL
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
