Essential Job Functions:

1. Performs MR examinations requiring a sound understanding of anatomical positioning, MR protocols, and equipment to produce optimum results.
2. Assumes accountability for managing delivery of care and patient safety.
3. Prepares patients for procedures, providing instructions to obtain desired results, gain cooperation, and minimize anxiety.
4. Assesses and screens patients for potential risk factors, documents patient history, and pertinent information.
5. Follows departmental protocol for procedures unless specified otherwise by the Radiologist.
6. Ensures proper identification of patient demographics and communicates with attending Radiologists to verify provider orders.
7. Produces quality diagnostic images for interpretation and maintains MRI room cleanliness after exams and procedures.
8. Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and prioritizes and organizes work assignments based on changing situations.
9. Exercises proper precautions to ensure the safety of patients and staff while performing duties.
10. Ensures equipment is in acceptable condition by conducting routine quality control checks and prepares and assists in the administration of contrast materials.

General Job Functions:

1. Demonstrates knowledge and compliance of safety, OSHA, and HIPAA regulations.
2. Performs daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual Quality Control.
3. Experience with power injectors is preferred.
4. Attends departmental meetings and performs other job duties as required.

Education, Certification, Computer, and Training Requirements:

1. BLS certification is required.
2. 1-3 years' experience is required.
3. Graduated from an accredited MRI program with current MRI certification.
4. ARRT or ARMRIT certification is required.
5. IV certificate is preferred.
6. The ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is required.
7. Advanced computer skills, including email, Microsoft applications, and the ability to comprehend and utilize Electronic Medical Record System, RIS, and PACS Systems, are required.

Per diem technologists will typically be needed for 4 shifts within a 6-week scheduling grid. 2 or more of those shifts will occur during the weekend. Must work at least one holiday per year. Locations are subject to change. Location preference will be taken into consideration; however, technologists will be scheduled according to staffing needs.

Once shifts are accepted and assigned, it becomes the responsibility of the technologist to get coverage, if adequate notice is not given.

All shift trades or drop requests are subject to manager approval.
