Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee all aspects of construction projects, including regulatory submissions, budgets, schedules, design, construction, quality control, and adherence to project specifications and drawings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage construction projects from start to finish, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Develop and submit budget reports and variances as required.
  • Oversee the purchasing process, including construction services, materials purchasing, and invoice review.
  • Maintain accurate project records, including design drawings, submittals, as-builts, correspondence, regulatory submissions, financial statements, and other project information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards, including The Joint Commission, New York State Building and Health Departments, and others.
  • Develop and manage project equipment lists and requirements, working closely with facility employees and design consultants.
  • Prepare project budgets for presentation to facility administration and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage regulatory review packages, including submissions to New York State Health Department, New York City Building Department, and others.
  • Provide direct supervision of design consultants and contractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with facility staff on construction projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Oversee project completion and occupancy, including construction closeout, commissioning of mechanical equipment and systems, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or an approved related program.
  • Five years of responsible capital program implementation-related experience, including at least two years in administration, management, or expediting substantial phases of capital projects.
  • Ability to handle complex technical and commercial problems with independent judgment, tact, and initiative.
  • Related experience may be substituted on a basis of two years of experience to one year of education.
  • Graduate education may be substituted for up to one year of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six years of full-time, satisfactory experience performing construction inspection or construction management work on projects comparable in scope and dollar value to those undertaken by the City of New York in its capital construction program.
  • Experience in computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Auto CADD.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills, with the ability to motivate team efforts and work effectively with vendors, staff, and clients at all levels.
  • Basic knowledge of building codes and the ability to inspect and determine the adaptability and cost of renovation of existing structures.
  • Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, create conceptual plans, and apply Building Code guidelines where applicable.
