Role Summary:

The Physical Therapist will assess and treat patients based on referrals from physicians. Treatment plans will be crafted using a variety of therapeutic techniques aimed at restoring muscle strength, enhancing coordination, correcting body alignment, alleviating pain, and improving overall movement and functionality. This role includes overseeing support staff to ensure high-quality patient care and optimal productivity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patient information and determine its relevance to treatment planning;
  • Conduct comprehensive functional assessments in line with established protocols;
  • Develop and implement personalized Care Plans that reflect the patient's age and specific needs, incorporating input from patients and their families;
  • Administer therapy treatments as prescribed by physicians promptly and in accordance with clinic protocols;
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards;
  • Achieve performance metrics for patient visits per hour, considering various clinical factors;
  • Mentor and guide Rehabilitation Technicians in effective treatment methodologies;
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare staff regarding patient progress and discharge planning;
  • Ensure adherence to documentation guidelines for Care Plans and progress notes;
  • Educate patients and families about treatment procedures and potential risks;
  • Design and instruct home care programs for patients post-discharge;
  • Support continuity of care for patients requiring further rehabilitation after discharge;
  • Participate in clinic meetings and quality improvement initiatives;
  • Provide clinical supervision to Physical Therapy students as needed;
  • Collaborate respectfully with administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic operations;
  • Assist with credentialing and billing processes to resolve any issues that may arise;
  • Engage in continuing education relevant to the profession;
  • Adhere to all regulatory and professional standards;
  • Offer insights to the Director of Physical Therapy regarding clinical practices;
  • Complete mandatory training and certification as required;
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure quality patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy;
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist;
  • Proven expertise in specialized areas of physical therapy;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to assess and address patient and family needs effectively;
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and Medicare documentation;
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems;
  • Preferred membership in the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
