Job Summary:

Uniontown Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Services team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, providing individualized care to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, responding promptly to changes in condition and communicating effectively with healthcare teams.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to educate on health conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams, using active listening skills and empathetic approaches to resolve conflicts and address concerns.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of West Virginia or eligibility for licensure through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
  • One year of experience in emergency nursing or a related field.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, obtained within 30 days of hire date.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology systems.
  • Certification in a specialty area, such as trauma nursing or critical care.
  • Leadership experience or participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Working Conditions:

The Registered Nurse - Emergency Services role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, and other hazardous materials. The position also involves working with electrical equipment, lifting patients, and standing for extended periods.
