Position Overview

As we expand our team, we are seeking a dedicated Accounting Manager who will play a crucial role in our financial operations.

Role Summary:

This role is based in our Jacksonville, FL office, and candidates must be prepared to work onsite full-time. The Accounting Manager will collaborate closely with our VP and Controller, overseeing various accounting functions such as general ledger management, month-end closing procedures, financial reporting, auditing, and year-end tax preparation.

The ideal candidate will excel in a dynamic, collaborative environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A CPA certification is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the month-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with accounting standards.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Generate reports for company leadership, ensuring adherence to financial management standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
  • Review accruals for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms for audits and year-end tax reporting.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights on variances.
  • Assist in preparing documentation for Board meetings.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and monitoring of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Implement best practices across the accounting function.
  • Participate in system upgrades to improve financial reporting capabilities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; other relevant degrees may be considered.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Experience in team management and leadership.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects effectively while maintaining focus on details.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • Experience with NetSuite is a plus.
  • Proactive in seeking process improvements.
  • Adaptable to a fast-paced and changing business environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
