To deliver exceptional patient care and improve the quality of life for patients and families by coordinating patient care processes of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in collaboration with the patient, family, physician, and appropriate support services.
Essential Job Functions- Coordinates patient assessment through collection of patient's health information, prioritizing data collection based on the patient's immediate condition or needs.
- Analyzes patient assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and identifies expected outcomes, prioritizing outcomes based on the patient's condition and needs.
- Coordinates an interdisciplinary plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes, collaborating with appropriate disciplines and integrating various assessments to formulate an individualized plan of care.
- Implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, collaborating with the interdisciplinary health care team to deliver direct patient care utilizing nursing practice standards and universal blood and body fluid precautions.
- Evaluates the patient's progress toward attainment of outcomes, performing ongoing and systematic reassessment according to department standards or more frequently based on patient condition.
- Provides ongoing patient assessment and emotional support to the patient prior to the induction of endoscopy procedures and during the procedures.
- Administers and monitors Procedural Sedation, demonstrating proficiency in the management of patients receiving Procedural Sedation.
- 1 year Nursing experience preferred
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year
- Current Louisiana RN licensure
- CGRN Certification and SGNA membership encouraged/preferred
Maintains knowledge of and adherence to all applicable HIPAA regulations and safety practices appropriate to the Job Position.
