Job Description

Zodiac of North America Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aluminum Shop Manager to oversee the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components in our manufacturing facility.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and setting up the shop to ensure efficient production of high-quality aluminum boats. This includes coordinating and managing all aspects of the aluminum shop, including production schedules, material ordering, quality control, and employee supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the construction of aluminum boat hulls and related components according to production schedules and quality standards
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed and maintain a safe working environment
  • Create requisitions for materials and supplies needed for production and manage inventory levels
  • Supervise and train employees in the aluminum shop, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties
  • Assist in conducting quality control inspections on finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards
  • Implement and maintain efficient production processes to ensure timely delivery of products and meet customer expectations
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to coordinate production workflows and ensure seamless integration of processes
  • Troubleshoot any production issues that arise and implement solutions to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
  • Plan and organize work schedules to meet production goals and deadlines
  • Manage certifications for welding team and ensure compliance with industry standards

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have AWS Aluminum welding certification and experience in aluminum boat construction, strong leadership and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of production processes. They should also have strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is typically required.
