Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Elementary Education Specialist to join our team. As an Elementary Education Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality educational experiences for students in grades K-5.

Job Overview

This position requires a deep understanding of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with special needs and English language learners.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the Elementary Education Specialist will also provide professional development opportunities for colleagues and support the development of school-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state and national standards, incorporating best practices in differentiated instruction and technology integration.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and academic achievement.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress and inform instruction, using data to drive decision-making and improve student outcomes.
  • Professional Development: Provide coaching and mentoring to colleagues on effective instructional strategies and technologies, supporting school-wide initiatives and improving teacher effectiveness.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree: In elementary education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Certification: Meet Georgia certification requirements in elementary education, including passing scores on PRAXIS exams.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a classroom teacher or in educational leadership roles preferred.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $59,146 - $112,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Gwinnett County Public Schools offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
