Position: Assembler

I. POSITION SUMMARY

Department: Manufacturing

Location: Hazlehurst, MS

Reports to: Supervisor

II. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Assembler is responsible for the assembly of metal or plastic components, either partially or fully, while working at a bench or on the production floor by executing the following tasks.

Due to variations in production demands, employees may be reassigned across different departments, roles, or shifts at management's discretion.

III. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.

IV. COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Effective communication with colleagues, supervisors, and management is essential.

V. SUPERVISION

This position operates under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor.

  1. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred.
  • TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED SKILLS
No specific training required.

VIII. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

A minimum of three to six months of related experience and/or training is preferred.

IX. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

No travel is required.
  1. KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Position components based on knowledge of the assembly unit.
  • Secure parts together using bolts, screws, clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
  • Utilize hand files and scrapers to achieve precise fits between components.
  • Operate drill presses, punch presses, or riveting machines to facilitate assembly tasks.
  • Alert the department supervisor or quality control personnel regarding any quality issues.
  • Inform the department supervisor or maintenance staff if machine adjustments are necessary.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Report potential safety hazards to the department supervisor and maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Exhibit consistent and reliable attendance.
  • Engage with colleagues in a cooperative and professional manner.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
  1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the responsibilities of this role, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for manipulation, reach with arms, and bend or crouch. Sitting may be occasionally required. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS
While fulfilling the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and may occasionally encounter fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, though hearing protection may be necessary depending on the assigned department.
