We are seeking a highly skilled Critical Care Nurse to join our team at St Lukes Boise Medical Center. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in our ICU unit.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including those with complex medical conditions and requiring advanced life support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitor and manage patient vital signs, lab results, and medication administration.
- Perform procedures such as central line placement, arterial line placement, and thoracentesis.
- Participate in code blue and rapid response team activations.
- Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record.
- 2 years of ICU experience required.
- Experience in similar size or larger ICU and hospital preferred.
- Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS.
- Ability to titrate drips required.
- Experience with ICU patients, including those with CABG, CVA, hemorrhages, GI bleeds, DKA, STEMI, Septic Shock, OD, Resp failure, neurosurgery, and open hearts.
- Shifts and Scheduling: 12 hours, 7-7:30.
- Weekend Requirements: Every Other or half of the weekends.
- Holiday Requirements: Yes, contingent on staffing needs.
- Unit specific orientation: 1-2 Shifts.
- RT in ICU 24/7: Yes- staff a minimum of 2 in each ICU.
- RT Equipment: Vents, BiPAP, Cpap.
- Facility has a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates.
- Department: Critical Care.
- Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:1 and 1:2.
- Common titratable &/or set rate drips include: Dopamine, Epi, Norepi, cardene, nitro, neo, vasopressin, diltiazem, insulin, esmolol.
