About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our technology team as a Lead Developer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our web and mobile applications, ensuring high-quality deliverables, and mentoring a team of offshore contract developers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Code Development: Write maintainable, extensible, and thoroughly tested code in a variety of languages, including ReactJS, PHP/Laravel, and MySQL.
  • Code Reviews: Conduct thorough code reviews and testing to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of offshore contract developers, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
  • Project Planning: Estimate timelines for features and participate in story grooming, ensuring that projects are well-planned and executed.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers to align development efforts with business goals, and work closely with the software and QA engineers to develop and maintain our applications.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive engineering/developer work experience.
  • Education: Completed Bachelor's in computer science, engineering, or technical discipline or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on quality, both in hands-on development as well as code reviews and functional reviews. Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work well in a high-output, short-cycle Agile or continuous release environment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong, object-oriented and/or event-driven programming skills with a scripting language (JavaScript, Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP). Understanding of common programming principles and practices that are used to help structure maintainable and extensible codebases. Familiarity with APM tools for troubleshooting, diagnosis, feature tracking, and application monitoring.
