POSITION SUMMARY: The role involves evaluating and treating neuromusculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems through physical or mechanical interventions to preserve or restore functionality impaired by injury or illness. This position focuses on pain management and enhancing mobility and overall health as directed by the referring physician. The professional will be accountable for crafting, executing, and overseeing the care plan tailored for each individual. Responsibilities include administering various physical therapy modalities and collaborating closely with patients, their families, and the interdisciplinary team throughout the treatment process.
RequirementsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: A Doctorate, Master's, Bachelor's, or Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: A valid New Mexico Physical Therapist license and BLS certification are mandatory.
SKILLS:
- Proven accountability and proficiency in assessment, evaluation, decision-making, and time management.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, along with strong organizational abilities.
EXPERIENCE: No prior experience is necessary.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
Reports to: Director/Manager of Sports Medicine.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The position is conducted in a clean, well-lit, and ventilated smoke-free environment. There may be potential exposure to communicable diseases, challenging patients, and hazardous materials. The role may involve managing stressful professional interactions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The candidate should maintain good physical health, as the job entails prolonged periods of standing and walking. Responsibilities include lifting, positioning, and transferring patients, as well as handling equipment. The role may require lifting supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, with potential strains from handling heavy patients and equipment.
