Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at Christus Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ultrasound Imaging: Apply medical ultrasound to patients in accordance with doctor's orders, working within the scope of practice as defined by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and American Society Radiologic Technologists.
  • Equipment Operation: Handle the movement, set-up, and operation of medical ultrasound equipment, ensuring it is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Procedure Documentation: Accurately document procedural information in patient medical records, including PACS.
  • Collaboration with Radiologists: Assist radiologists in performing invasive biopsy procedures using ultrasound systems to pinpoint anatomical locations for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all procedures are accurately charged and turned in at the end of the day for correct billing, and report any equipment or computer issues that may impact workflow.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Demonstrate competence in performing assigned patient care responsibilities, adapting to the unique needs of each patient, and adhering to the CORE values of Christus Health.
  • Education and Certification: Possess a graduate degree from an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or equivalent, and hold ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen, with certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1-year scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound.
  • ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year.
  • Certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred.
