Certified Medical Assistant I, AMG Diabetes

**Job Summary**
At Atlantic Health System, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant I to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced clinical setting.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician, including handling patient intake, updating medical records, and administering screening tools.
- Record medical information and test results, conduct patient interviews, take and record vital signs, collect specimens, and administer medication under physician supervision.
- Assist with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensuring verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.
- Monitor the environment for compliance with accreditation readiness and evaluate practice schedules for changes or updates.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the certified medical assistant scope of practice, incorporating elements of holistic patient-centered and team-based care.
- Guide patients through the healthcare system and help patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.
- Provide emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
- Assist with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.
**Requirements**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- National Certification CCMA from NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.
- Precertification agreement must be signed if expired or receiving certification within 60 days of employment.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.
- 1 year of experience in healthcare services.
