Quality Assurance Inspector II

At Ducommun, we are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector II to join our team. As a Quality Assurance Inspector II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas to determine quality and reliability standards.
- Select products for tests at specified stages in the production process and test products for various qualities such as dimensions, performance, and mechanical, electrical, or chemical characteristics.
- Record test data and evaluate data to write reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
- Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within the limits of equipment capability.
- Perform flat plate first parts and production inspection and support production personnel in determining conformance of product by using product acceptance media.
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports, generate MRR Tags, and lead quality meetings on limited subjects.
- Participate in root cause analysis for corrective actions, perform Receiving Inspection and validate Product Verification, and perform Final Inspection/Dimensional Inspection and review work orders for accuracy.
- Facilitate Customer Source Inspection (Parts & Tooling) and work with Production Expeditors to maintain and facilitate the Shop Risk System.
- Support, prepare for, and facilitate customer source inspection, perform calibration on various tools, and proficiently mentor other operators with evaluating and resolving process issues.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma; Some College preferred; up to 5 years related experience in job function and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mylars, and other inspection media.
- Knowledge of ISO and SPC is a plus.
- Intermediate computer knowledge and skills.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Annual eye exam is required.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Working conditions are: 5% office environment, 95% manufacturing environment.
- Noise level is usually moderate.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
- Safety glasses (ANSI Z87 compliant) required in all manufacturing areas.
- Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.
- Safety Footwear shall be in accordance with the following: ASTM standard F with minimum impact resistance, compression resistance, and metatarsal designation ratings of 75 foot pounds (i.e. ASTM F I/75 C/75 Mt/75), which are viewable on the inside tag of footwear.
