The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Urologic Hospitalist to join the Department of Urology. This is an exciting opportunity for a board-certified urologist to provide comprehensive inpatient care for patients with acute and chronic urological conditions.
Job DescriptionA Urologic Hospitalist plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between specialized urologic care and comprehensive inpatient management, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care during their hospital stay.
- Performs surgical procedures where assigned.
- Provides direct and indirect patient care services in the inpatient setting
- Interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to access medical or surgical needs; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in the medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patients and their families; responds and maintains open communication with referring physicians.
The practice is supported by a mid-level urology resident and two advanced practice providers.
The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with residents, faculty members, and other stakeholders.
Requirements- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Licensed or license eligible for State of Ohio and DEA licensure
- Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Urology
- Qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Professor level
The estimated annual salary for this position is around $300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
