Position Overview:

The Lube Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality maintenance services on customer vehicles, which includes oil changes, tire rotations, lubrication, fluid replacements, tire servicing, wiper and filter replacements, and routine gauge checks such as tire pressure and fluid levels.

Objectives and Expected Conduct:

1. Enhance customer loyalty and retention for the dealership while achieving outstanding customer service ratings
  • Welcome customers, staff, and visitors warmly and courteously
  • Honor commitments made
  • Assist customers at all times within the dealership
  • Ensure customers enjoy a remarkably positive experience
  • Maintain professionalism in demeanor, attire, and communication
  • Anticipate customer needs through active listening and inquiry
2. Execute vehicle maintenance tasks efficiently to maximize productivity
  • Organize and streamline work processes
  • Avoid distractions during work hours
  • Limit personal activities (social media, texting, calls) during shop time
  • Communicate necessary repairs to Service Advisors and fellow Technicians
3. Uphold customer satisfaction standards and contribute to overall shop performance by performing thorough maintenance
  • Conduct lube, oil, and filter changes
  • Lubricate essential vehicle components
  • Replace filters and wipers
  • Service brakes and perform tire rotations
  • Check and replenish fluids as needed
  • Take ownership of work orders
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shop environment
4. Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols
  • Utilize safety goggles when operating power tools and working under vehicles
  • Lift and carry items following safety guidelines
  • Wear appropriate footwear
  • Request assistance for heavy lifting
  • Operate machinery safely and according to design specifications
  • Keep the workspace free from hazards
  • Drive vehicles safely using defensive driving techniques
5. Add value through the services provided and the overall shop experience
  • Install service reminder stickers in vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles are clean and free from marks or residue
6. Perform additional duties as assigned

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose vehicle repair needs
  • Possess the ability to execute repair orders and perform mechanical work beyond basic services
  • Utilize office equipment including phones and computers effectively
  • Engage with customers in a professional and service-oriented manner
  • Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, management, and colleagues
  • Provide information regarding vehicles and services offered
  • Follow instructions accurately and efficiently
  • Drive and operate vehicles safely and legally
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Moderate computer proficiency with a willingness to learn new software
  • Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Organizational and time management capabilities
  • High School diploma or equivalent experience
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in various weather conditions, including rain, snow, heat, and cold
  • Frequently bend, stoop, and transition between standing and squatting positions
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds regularly
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 65 pounds
  • Utilize hands and arms in vehicle repairs with various motions
  • Work in confined spaces and under vehicles regularly
  • Occasionally walk throughout the dealership and lots
