Material Handler

The Material Handler role at Primient's Butner Bulk Station is an operator-level position reporting to the Bulk Station Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within the facility.

• Loading and Unloading: Load and unload trucks and/or rail cars, and operate loading systems at the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) level, including syrup sample analysis and documentation.
• Safety and Compliance: Participate in all safety training, daily safety meetings, and scheduled safety audits. Report all injuries and accidents immediately, and complete safety initiatives and incentives each month and on time.
• Operational Excellence: Participate in the creation of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Know the locations of headcount areas, emergency evacuation routes, and storm shelters. Know area goals and principles, and be knowledgeable of Primient's policies and procedures.
• Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to work as scheduled, including night shift, weekends, rotation/swing shift, holidays, and overtime as needed. Knowledgeable of the hazards of inclement weather, and completion of area testing.
• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Knowledge of startup and shutdown procedures for equipment and systems. Able to troubleshoot and communicate any issues, and maintain Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards in the area.
• Documentation and Communication: Give a clear, well-communicated, and accurate turnover to the next shift. Complete daily documentation and logbook, and be knowledgeable of general roles and facility care.

This position requires the ability to safely perform the following tasks:

• Lifting of up to 55 pounds without mechanical assistance.
• Climbing a vertical ladder up to 15ft.
• Climbing several flights of stairs, several times a shift.
• Standing for up to 1 hour without sitting.
• Bending and twisting motion at the waist and knees.
• Ability to work a rotating shift schedule with the flexibility to work alternate schedules as needed.
