Veterinary Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Village Animal Clinic. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our doctors in delivering high-quality medical services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in medical, surgical, and dental procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites to ensure a clean and efficient environment.
- Perform clinical laboratory procedures, including blood draws, urinalysis, and fecal examinations, and ensure accurate test results are recorded.
- Administer medications, injections, and anesthetics as directed by veterinarians, and monitor patients during recovery.
- Provide exceptional client service, educating clients on animal care, medication administration, and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate records, including patient histories, test results, and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless patient care and efficient clinic operations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in veterinary technology or a related field preferred.
- Current certification as a veterinary technician or technologist (CVT or RVT) or willingness to obtain certification within a specified timeframe.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with veterinarians, clients, and other staff members.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to lift, move, and restrain animals as necessary.
- A competitive salary range of $15.00 - $27.00 per hour, based on experience.
