About the Role

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as an Associate Engineer - Mechanical. This role will be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Engineering Solutions: Develop and implement conventional engineering and scientific solutions to meet the technical needs of the Savannah River Mission Completion project.
  • Support Senior Engineers: Assist more senior engineering personnel in performing related activities and provide technical support as needed.
  • Contribute to Project Objectives: Accept delegated technical responsibility for a limited phase of a scientific or engineering program and support engineers or scientists performing related phases of a program.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering: A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Expected Graduation Date: If currently working towards a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, an expected graduation date by August 31, 2025 is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Internship or Work Experience: Previous internship with Savannah River Site or other related work experience while obtaining a degree is preferred.
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills: A sound technical knowledge base of disciplines standard concepts, principles, and techniques with the ability to apply formal training is required.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate in a clear and professional manner with various levels of employees are essential.
  • High GPA: A GPA of 2.8 or higher is preferred.

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract.
