Role Summary: The Financial Services Advisor plays a crucial role in assisting patients and their families by providing a range of services aimed at ensuring a clear understanding of the payment collection process, making it as seamless and comfortable as possible.

Work Schedule: 7pm-7:30am Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, on-call Wednesday (or) Monday, Thursday, Friday, on-call Tuesday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplifies the commitment Orlando Health has towards delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that all job functions align with departmental service goals.
  • Maintains a positive and professional demeanor while effectively communicating with patients and team members.
  • Accurately collects and inputs demographic and financial information from patients and guarantors.
  • Coordinates with Primary Care or Admitting Physicians to secure necessary authorizations, diagnoses, and procedural details.
  • Clarifies required documentation and secures signatures from patients or guarantors.
  • Engages with relevant payers to verify benefits and obtain required authorizations.
  • Explains insurance benefits and collects co-payments, deductibles, and any self-pay amounts due.
  • Documents authorization and benefit details within the registration system.
  • Compiles patient records and gathers essential documents, including insurance cards and identification.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of the Patient Financial Services Orientation program and adherence to annual educational requirements.
