Position Overview

We are looking for a proficient senior software engineer who is adept at mastering a Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) product and developing deep subject matter expertise. This role involves addressing challenges with limited guidance, while collaborating within a dynamic and highly visible team environment. The key responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing intricate operational software systems, engaging with Government project leadership regarding priorities, estimating tasks, and contributing to Government roadmaps. Additional responsibilities encompass conducting system upgrades, debugging existing software, and resolving defects; integrating current software into new or modified systems and operating environments; investigating and analyzing user issues and identifying potential solutions.

Qualifications

Applicants must possess a TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

A bachelor's degree coupled with six (6) years of experience in software development and engineering is required. Alternatively, ten (10) years of software development experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree. Proficiency in JavaScript and XML is essential, along with a solid understanding of the Linux server environment. Candidates should be eager to embrace challenges and strive to become experts in the products. Experience with COTS integration and developing and updating technical documentation is also necessary. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot computer systems and software are crucial. Availability during core hours of 10 am-2 pm Monday - Friday is required, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.

Additionally, it is preferred that candidates have experience in closely collaborating with Government clients and managing systems hosted in virtual environments such as AWS or C2S. Familiarity with Java and JavaScript, Oracle and SQL databases, and ARCHIBUS is desirable, as well as experience with agile development methodologies. Proficiency in the Atlassian Tool Suite, including Confluence & Jira, and experience with Perceptive Content or any content management or workflow management suite will be advantageous.
