About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our Neurology department at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of veterinary medicine.
Responsibilities- Master neurological anatomy and function to provide accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.
- Perform high-quality anesthetic induction, monitoring, and maintenance for surgeries and imaging procedures.
- Calculate medication and fluid doses for administration to hospitalized patients, ensuring accuracy and precision.
- Assist in surgeries and advanced imaging procedures, working closely with our neurologists to provide comprehensive care.
- Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, urinary catheter placement, and other essential procedures to ensure patient comfort and safety.
- Recognize and document changes in patient attitude, abnormal behavior, and changes in condition, providing timely updates to our neurologists.
- Acquire histories and assist during neurologic consultations, providing valuable insights to inform treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with our neurologists to positively impact patient care, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
- Participate in client education, utilizing practice management software to maintain accurate client and patient records.
- Contribute to the development of new procedures and protocols, staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in veterinary medicine.
- CA RVT preferred, with 2+ years of experience in veterinary neurology.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients, demonstrating tact, patience, and professional courtesy.
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates.
