Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Literary Champion and Aerospace Educator to join our team at Alabama Aerospace and Aviation High School.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing rigorous, nationally standards-aligned curricula in English Language Arts. They will teach ELA students to think critically, analyze literature, and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

Curriculum Development and Instruction

  • Adapt and execute a rigorous curriculum that aligns with national standards
  • Develop academically rigorous lessons, unit plans, rubrics, and assessments
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions
  • Provide regular feedback on performance and plan for individual learning needs

Classroom Culture and Management

  • Establish a positive school and classroom culture
  • Develop positive relationships with students, families, teachers, and staff
  • Effectively supervise and manage a classroom of up to 25 students

Professional Development

  • Pursue challenging professional goals each year
  • Participate in school-wide and individual professional development

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred
  • Valid Alabama Teaching Certificate or willingness to become certified ASAP
  • Pass Criminal Background Check

Estimated Salary:

$65,000 - $80,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications
