We are seeking a highly skilled Welder/Fabricator III to join our team at JBT Corporation. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for fabricating and installing complex structures, cutting and welding with various processes, and performing metal forming, bending, and finishing tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Perform stainless steel TIG welding down to 18ga. thickness
- Operate stainless steel MIG welding down to 16ga. thickness
- Purge welding
- Arc/Stick weld carbon and/or stainless steel down to 1/8" thickness
- Handle non-complex to complex welding of fabricated parts
- Complete understanding of fit-up assignments
- Ability to straighten fabricated members
- Ability to create shop fixtures as needed without supervision
- Above-average skills related to shear, break, punch, and other fabrication equipment
- Operate notcher, press, and saws (all types)
- Debur and perform surface finishes, including polishing
- Handle and operate standard fabrication hand tools
- Requires no training assistants from fellow Level II or below fabricators
- Ability to read and understand complex mechanical fabrication drawings and BOM
- Perform complex layout and fit-up skills
- Clock in and out of jobs and work orders to keep accurate labor hours
- Assist other shops as needed
- Assist fabrication supervisor in his absence
- Capable of looking up work order-related information in Navision
- Communicate with the engineering department
- Able to train entry-level, Level I, and Level II fabricators
- Keep working area organized and clean
- Typically 5+ years of experience
- Performs above-normal duties and functions required for the position
- Ability to perform crossover duties and functions
- Ability to train levels 1 and 2
- Can operate over 75% of the departmental tools and machines
