Overview

The primary goal is to exhibit authentic hospitality and provide outstanding customer service in the bar section, by consistently crafting, garnishing, and serving both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with company standards for patrons at the bar and within the dining area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Shrimp Basket's food and beverage preparation, menu offerings, and special promotions.
  • Receive orders for alcoholic (21 years and older) and non-alcoholic drinks and food items.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic (21 years and older) and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Utilize a computer system to input orders into a POS.
  • Refill beverages upon customer request.
  • Process various payment methods and provide change as necessary.
  • Engage with customers, management, and colleagues in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Must successfully complete the Responsible Vendor; Service of Alcohol test with a score of 90% or higher (specific to Alabama locations).
  • Verify guest identification to confirm legal drinking age and politely refuse service to underage individuals, notifying management as needed.
  • Monitor guest behavior and provide assistance if overindulgence occurs (e.g., offering taxi services).
  • Treat customers with dignity and consistently aim to surpass their expectations.
  • Assist customers in selecting menu items, suggestively selling food and beverage options, taking orders, and ensuring a pleasant experience during their visit.
  • Maintain a well-stocked bar (beer, wine, and spirits) and uphold cleanliness while delivering friendly and attentive service.
  • Keep the work area tidy and organized.
  • Report to work in a clean and professional uniform, with well-groomed hair and personal hygiene being essential.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Attend required meetings.
Qualifications

Supervisory Role

This position does not entail supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This role is performed behind the bar and may involve close interaction with colleagues. The noise level in the work environment can be elevated. Potential hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts, slips, and trips. Frequent hand washing is necessary.

Education and Experience

  • Completion of applicable health and/or alcohol compliance training.
  • Must meet state regulations regarding the legal age to serve alcohol.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting.
  • Basic understanding of beer, wine, and spirits, along with familiarity with standard drink recipes.
