We are seeking a Marine Mammal Training Supervisor to oversee a specialized program. This position will involve direct involvement with naval marine mammal initiatives, specifically focusing on training marine mammals to support military operations.

Core Duties:
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and expert guidance to a dedicated team of marine mammal trainers.
  • Design and execute comprehensive training strategies and educational programs for marine mammals, ensuring readiness for operational missions.
  • Guarantee that all training practices comply with established standards, protocols, and animal welfare regulations.
  • Supervise training activities and collect data to evaluate the proficiency of marine mammals.
  • Coordinate training schedules, manage resources, and oversee facility operations.
  • Facilitate training support for marine mammal missions and operations.
  • Work in collaboration with veterinary professionals and marine mammal staff on health and safety matters.
  • Maintain precise training documentation and records.
Required Qualifications

Essential Skills:
  • Security Clearance: DOD Secret Security Clearance is mandatory.
  • Education: High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Completion of NMMP Continuing Education Courses I-IV is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in training bottlenose dolphins and/or California sea lions.
  • Familiarity with marine mammal research methodologies and data collection techniques.
  • Experience in supporting Navy operations through deployments.
  • Certification as a Professional Animal Trainer (CPAT) is advantageous.

Compensation Range
