Job Summary

Farm Credit Illinois is a leading agricultural financial cooperative serving 16,000 farmer, rural landowner, and agribusiness members in southern Illinois.

Our team manages a $7 billion loan portfolio, sells 1.5 million acres of crop insurance coverage, and employs 280 staff in Mahomet and 14 regional offices.

Job Responsibilities

As a Finance Intern, you will gain valuable experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and accounting applied to agricultural lending and crop insurance.

Expected weekly experiences include completion of meaningful projects and job shadowing opportunities.

You will support the business planning function, portfolio analysis reporting, and finance/accounting project work.

Requirements

Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, work ethic, and integrity.

Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook software applications are required.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong Excel experience is preferred, along with coursework in accounting and finance or experience with financial analysis, reporting, and/or budgeting.

Desired degree programs include finance, accounting, business administration, agricultural business, agricultural economics, or another related degree program.

Work Environment

The Finance Intern will work full-time (40 hours) during the 2025 Summer based at the central office in Mahomet, Illinois, and have opportunities for day and overnight travel assignments throughout southern Illinois.

Summer Intern hours are 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
