Role Overview:This position is situated within the Cardiology department at New River Valley. The role is full-time, operating Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
The Registered Nurse I is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients across all age groups, tailored to the specific service area.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct age-specific admissions and ongoing assessments, ensuring thorough documentation to inform care planning.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members, patients, and families to formulate, execute, and assess an interdisciplinary care plan that is age-appropriate, making adjustments as necessary based on patient condition.
- Administer and document treatments and medications accurately for patients of all ages using electronic medical record systems.
- Identify and address educational needs of patients and families in a timely manner, integrating these into the care plan and documenting appropriately.
- Exhibit advocacy for patients, safeguarding their rights while providing psychological, social, and cultural support.
Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or an approved program eligible for Virginia licensure examination.
Licensure/Certification: Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or be eligible for licensure. CPR certification is required, along with ACLS, PALS, and NRP as needed.
Additional Skills: Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC) is essential. Successful completion of orientation and competency requirements is mandatory.
